Fall events look different than in years’ past, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with social distance. Here’s our roundup for this month.

1. Hike the Hill

Sept. 1-20

It’s only fitting that we’d Hike the Hill here in Vestavia Hills! The Vestavia Hills Rotary Club is inviting everyone to do just that as a social distancing friendly fundraiser for our schools. The 1.5-mile hike starts at Little Shades Creek Bridge on Morgan Road, climbs to the crest past Vestavia Hills High School, and ends at the corner of Limerock and Panorama. Plus there are fun T-shirts. Register for it at vestaviarotary.org.

2. Whale of a Sale

Sept. 10-14
Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church

It’s that time of the year. Stock your kids’ fall and winter wardrobe at this annual consignment sale, this year held online through Shopify. Visit whaleofasale.blogspot.com for updates on this year’s setup and procedures. Buyers will pick up their purchases on Sept. 18.

3. Shred and Recycle Day

Sept. 12 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Vestavia Hills City Hall

Bring your electronics and household disposable wastes for recycling and papers that need to be recycled at City Hall. Find a full list of what can and cannot be recycled here.
