1. Trail Fit in the Forest Weekly Workout

2. Writing Your Memoirs

4. Rocky Ridge Church Farmer’s Market

Support local farmers and businesses by coming out to the this market off Rocky Ridge Road, where you can find everything from fresh tomatoes to handmade soap.

5. Big Cahaba Cleanup

Saturday, June 8 | 9 a.m-3 p.m.

Be a part of the Cahaba River Society’s largest cleanup ever, and help  eliminate the Cahaba’s pollution and encourage recycling. Email clean@cahabariversociety.org to volunteer, or visit cahabariversociety.org for more information. Registration starts and shuttles start at 8 a.m.

6. Stewart Cink Championship

Monday-Thursday, June 17-20

Named after the Alabama native Stewart Cink, this championship event is held by the American Junior Golf Association. It is a 54-hole tournament featuring nearly 100 male and female junior golfers between the ages of twelve and nineteen. Learn more about the tournament at ajga.org.

7. Father-Daughter Tea

8. In Concert: Tom Mason, The Blue Buccaneer

Do your kids love pirates? Do your kids love music? Do your kids love being outside? Bring them to this free Tom Mason event to hear songs from his new children’s CD entitled If You Want To Be A Pirate. All ages are welcome to join in on the fun.

9. I Love America Night

Get in the 4th of July spirit a week early with free family fun at I Love America Night! Enjoy a concert by the Shades Mountain Baptist Church Orchestra at 7:00 p.m. followed by a movie at 8:15 p.m. The children’s area is open from 6-8 p.m. Note that the event is being held at VHHS this year due to construction at Wald Park.

10. Toy Story Movie Marathon

Celebrate the recent June 21 release of the last movie in the Toy Story franchise by waiting a few extra days to take your kids (or yourself!) to the theater and catching up on the first three movies beforehand. Popcorn and drinks will be served at all showings, and children eight and under must be accompanied by an adult.
