1. Tree Lighting Festival

Ring in the season with this annual celebration of holiday lights. We hear Santa will be there, too, along with music from school choirs and bands and more.

2. Magic City Nutcracker

Dec. 6-8

Virginia Samford Theatre

Travel to the land of mice soldiers and a Sugar Plum Fairy in this holiday favorite—put together with a community cast and special guests based out of Vestavia Dance. Order your tickets at magiccitynutcracker.org.

3. Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, Dec. 7 | 7:30-10 a.m.
Vestavia Hills Civic Center

Come out for a pancake breakfast with a special guest from the North Pole. Syrup included for those on the nice list.

4. Vestavia Hills Christmas Parade and Celebration

Sunday, Dec. 8 | 2-4 p.m.
Liberty Park Sports Complex to Alston Meadows

The tradition continues. Find a good spot along the route to watch the parade pass, and then stay for a Christmas Celebration with children’s activities, refreshments, music, pictures with Santa and more.

5. Celebrating the Season

Tuesday, Dec. 10 |  7 p.m.
Vestavia Hills High School

Celebrate the season with performances by the high school’s band, choir, dance and theatre departments, and you’ll be sure to be singing “Fa la la la la, la la la la” all the way home.

6. Legacy League Christmas Home Tour

Tuesday, Dec. 12
10 a.m.–2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m.

Tour homes in all their festive glory—plus festive hors d’oeuvres and a holiday gift market at the Samford president’s home. Proceeds benefit the Legacy League’s scholarships to Samford University for students with significant financial need and challenging circumstances. For tickets visit samford.edu/legacyleague/.

7. Family Night- The Santa Show

Tuesday, Dec. 17
6 p.m. Dinner, 6:30 p.m.
Library in the Forest

A favorite elf will be visiting with stories from the North Pole in this program for all ages.

8. Pure Fitness Reindeer Dash

Saturday, Dec. 21 | 8 a.m.
1425 Montgomery Highway, Suite 115

Work off all that party food at this annual 5K and 1-mile fun run. Better yet, dress as favorite holiday character and bring your family when you come. Plus, your registration fee benefits the Grace Klein Community, which seeks to create authentic community by uniting diverse individuals, businesses, ministries and churches to work together by sharing what they have in order to meet physical and spiritual needs both locally and globally.
